What Charge Ready Home is.
Charge Ready Home is a Southern California Edison program that offers rebates to eligible residential customers toward upgrading their home’s electrical panel. Panel upgrades are often needed before a Level 2 EV charger can be installed safely.
SCE requires the upgrade to be done by a licensed electrician or contractor. MJ Electrical Services participates in the program as a contractor.

If needed, we replace the panel. Power is restored once the new panel is installed and approved.

Do I need a panel upgrade for a Level 2 charger?
Not always. It depends on your panel’s capacity and the loads already on it. We assess that first and tell you what’s required.
Does the Charge Ready Home rebate cover the charger?
The Charge Ready Home rebate described here applies to the electrical panel upgrade. Check with SCE, or ask us, about any other incentives that may apply to the charger itself.
Who decides if I’m eligible?
SCE. Eligibility, rebate amounts, and funding are set by SCE and can change. We can help you understand the requirements, but we can’t guarantee approval.

All types of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, with indoor and outdoor installations.
